Sakhalin 1 SPM
In 2005 we delivered a container with winches for an unmanned loading facility (Sakhalin 1 SPM) in the Sakhalin area. This device is used to load tanker vessels with heavy oil. The SPM (Single Point Mooring) was designed by Bluewater. The facility is normally unmanned and controlled from a tugboat or the receiving tanker.
Unique to this project are the severe environmental conditions in this area, namely extremely low temperatures and offshore sea conditions with heavy ice forming.
