Company 

Since the founding of the company in 1990, SMST Designers & Constructors have earned themselves a good reputation in the offshore and shipbuilding industry. With the whole process in-house, from sales to engineering, from production to after sales services, SMST Designers & Constructors can offer their clients tailor made products, designed in close cooperation with the client. The products are tailor made, but always include years of experience, innovation and craftsmanship.

Products

The products are mostly offshore related; offshore (deepwater) cranes, active heave compensation, knuckleboom cranes, telescopic deck cranes, pipe handling systems, PLET handling systems, winches, skidding systems and BOP handling systems are just a few examples of delivered products. SMST Designers & Constructors also deliver equipment for the super yacht industry, like sliding davits and hull doors.

Facilities

Located in the northern part of The Netherlands, SMST  Designers & Constructors currently have two locations, with the head office in Franeker.  Engineering, production and after sales are all located under the same roof, keeping communication easy and the people committed. A team of after sales engineers is working world wide for commissioning of the products and offering service to the clients.

Today and beyond

With a dedicated crew of more than 80 people, including production and engineering, SMST Designers & Constructors BV still is a relatively small company. But with a growing order intake and larger work force SMST Designers & Constructors are looking forwards. Additional capacity is recently found in the new (former Roden Staal) location in Drachten, The Netherlands.
